Drios, a village 25 km from Parikia, has a long history. During antiquity, it was the port of Paros and this was because it had deep enough water to offer berth to both merchant and warships. By the standards of the Cycladess, its clusters of trees on both its beaches make Drios one of the greenest villages of Paros. Take a walk and learn about the ancient shipyards, as well as the Cave of Demons with stalagmites and stalactites and the lakes of Dryos. On the coast of Dryos, a narrow beach with pebbles widens as you approach the pier. There are a number of attractive hotels above, scuplted into the landscape. Nearby, there are many beaches; among these Lolantonis stands out with its shallow turquoise water and shady little trees. After swimming there are a variety of tavernas where you can eat, locally.
